Nokia Asha 501, the Smarter and low cost Asha Series Handset

Nokia Asha 501 is the recent addition to the Nokia Asha Series phones. The handset has been launched with a price tag of 99 USD and is expected to be available in India from June 2013 priced at about 5500 INR.

The Nokia Asha 501 runs on a new software platform, has a 3 inch capacitive touchscreen and sports a new design and form factor than its predecessors.

Nokia says that the Asha 501 will be available in both single and dual SIM variants with a 1200 mAh battery that provides standby time of up to 48 days and talk time of up to 17 hours. Also a good news for facebook lovers is that they can access facebook for free through a stand alone app.

The phone features a 3.2 Megapixel camera, WiFi, a lock screen with a glanceable clock, 128 MB internal memory that is expandable upto 32 GB (4 GB card included in the box) and is available in Bright Red, Bright Green, Cyan, Yellow, White and Black colors.
